Apple is projected to surpass Samsung in smartphone shipments for the first time since 2011, with an estimated 243 million iPhones shipped in 2025 compared to Samsung's 235 million units. The shift reflects a 19.4% market share for Apple against Samsung's 18.7%, according to Counterpoint Research.

Strong demand for the iPhone 17 series, particularly in the U.S. and China, has fueled Apple's growth. U.S. sales ROSE 12% year-over-year in the first four weeks post-launch, while Chinese sales jumped 18%. The surge aligns with a global upgrade cycle as consumers replace devices purchased during the COVID-19 boom.
